Yesterday I taught a “Ladies Only” Concealed Carry class. Even though it was small, it was fun, and I think the ladies learned a lot.
We only had 7 sign up, but they were all interested, asking questions, and eager to learn to shoot and get more familiar with their firearms.
I added a small section to the courseware about purchasing handguns and challenges that can present to women. I don’t know if you’ve ever had this problem, but a woman going to a typical gun shop can run into some attitude. I know, shocking.
I also added a section about purchasing holsters. So many of us wear our clothing differently than men do, but the majority of holsters are designed for men and the very few ways they wear their holsters.
The class did run a little long, but it was good. The ladies shot well, and I think I might record some videos about the added “women’s only” content I added. I’m going to look at a couple of my favorite sites, like www.thewellarmedwoman.com and see if there’s anything already out there first. This might give me an excuse to go to the range in the morning. 🙂
